- Is the segway tour safe?
- Absolutely yes! Riding a Segway is very easy, Virtually anyone between the ages of 15-70 can ride it. Plus, we give extra care and put an emphasis on the safety of our customers by limiting our groups to up to 7 participants per group.
- How does the segway work?
- The "Segway Human Transporter" is the first of its kind-a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere pedestrians do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body’s movements, “sensing” when it should speed up and slow down.
- Is there an age limit for riding a segway?
- Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to use and learn, we do require that all riders be at least 15 years of age. exceptionally we allow kids of less than 15 to join in on our tours, please write us or visit our shop for more information.
- Is there a weight limit for riding a segway?
- The Segway is appropriate for virtually anyone from 15 up to 70 years of age. The Segway is not appropriate for those weighing under 100 pounds (45 kilos) or over 250 pounds (113 kilos).
- Is the segway appropriate for people with disabilities?
- Riding a Segway PT requires you to be able to perform simple tasks and to be self sufficient; stand up straight, lean slightly forward and backwards, and be able to climb a step. In case you have difficulties, please check our Golf-Cart Tours.
- What happens if it rains?
- We glide in the sun and in the rain. In case it rains prior to the tour, we might decide to continue the tour in a Golf-Cart, doing the same itinerary. We might cancel when weather is stormy, and in this case we will rain check it to another day depending on availability, or refund our guest.
- Does the tour go inside museums and monuments?
- Our tour is an orientation sightseeing visit of the city. We easily glide by the monuments without entering them.
- Is it allowed to take pictures during the segway tour?
- Absolutely, however, we do recommend that you ask your guide to take your pictures so you can focus on riding and balancing on your Segway.
- How far in advance do I need to reserve a place?
- These tours fill to capacity on a regular basis, and for this reason we suggest you either book online, or call our office. We don’t want you to miss out without letting us show you around.
- Is is possible to rent a segway without a tour?
- Yes, we rent segways on our spot at Villa Borghese park. check out our segway rental page
- What is the 'Segway Smile'?
- The Segway Smile is exhibited by nearly everyone who’s ever ridden a Segway PT. The Segway PT is more than a product; it’s an experience unlike anything you’ve tried before. Going from place to place becomes fun. Riders become empowered pedestrians that cover more ground, work smarter, become more productive and move more intelligently. This knowledge manifests itself in an ear-to-ear grin. Not sure what we’re talking about? Stop someone riding a Segway PT the next time you see one and you’ll understand. You’ll probably smile back.
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Refund due to cancellation will be issued in the following cases: Complete refund – At least 72 Hours before the Tour schedule. 50% refund – At least 48 Hours before the Tour schedule. We will give you the possibility to reschedule the tour, in case we are available, if you cancel at least 48 hours before the tour. Less then 48 Hours – We will give you the possibility to reschedule the tour depending on availability. Refund will be issued only in case the booking was made directly to Rolling-Rome.
- Is the tour appropriate to pregnant women?
- The use of Segway PT is not recommended when pregnant. in cases of early pregnancies we can allow you to participate after signing a waiver releasing Rolling Rome from any responsability.
- Is it allowed to drink alcohol before or during the segway tour?
- It is not allowed to drink alcohol during the Segway Tour. Any client suspected of drinking before or during the tour will be forfeit from the Segway Tour. No refund will be given in this case.
- Is the segway tour safe?
- Can the Golf-Cart tour start from our hotel?
- Yes! though your hotel would have to be inside the historical centre of Rome (Aurelian walls). Otherwise, we could start the tour at our shop (Piazza del Gesù 47) or anywhere else in the centre of Rome. If you're not sure whether your hotel is in the centre of Rome please feel free to contact us.
- What happens if it rains?
- Our tours part rain and shine. Our golf-cart have are covered and have plastic coverings plus we always carry ponchos around so we could stretch ourselves outside of it when exploring sites.
- Does the Golf-Cart has a cover?
- Absolutely yes! All our Golf-Carts have a top cover to protect you from the sun.
- How many people can fit in a Golf-Cart?
- We have 4-seat, 6-seat and 8-seat golf-carts. Please note that we could also use more then one golf-cart on a tour!
- What is the seat alignment?
- Seat position: 4 seater carts – all seats face forward. 6 seater cart – 4 seats face forward 2 seats face backwards. 8 seat cart – 6 seats face forward 2 seats face backwards.
- Can I join other people on the tour?
- Unfortunately no. Our golf-cart tour is always private and we could not connect people.
- Could you make multiple hotel pick-ups if people stay at different hotels?
- Unfortunately no. We could start the tour from one hotel only.
- Could the tour itinerary be changed?
- Absolutely yes! Being private we could always change your itinerary, as long is it would round up to a nice itinerary.
- Do we enter sites such as the Colosseum or Vatican during the golf-cart tour?
- We do not enter sites during our 3 hour golf-cart tour. We do however offer a full day tour that could include 3 hours by golf-cart, lunch break and a tour by foot inside the Colosseum and Roman Forum or the Vatican Museum and St. Peter Basilica.
- Can the golf-cart enter the Roman Forum?
- No, as it is only pedestrian.
- Can the Golf-Cart tour start from our hotel?
- What's the minimum age to ride an electric bicycle?
- Minimum age is 13 years old.
- What happens if it rains?
- Electric bicycle cannot be used when it rains as safety comes first. If it rains heavily we postpone or cancel to the. If it just drizzling we would part with rain ponchos.
- Can I carry a child or a baby on the bicycle's back?
- We do have baby seats so you could have a baby with you (baby seat = up to 20kg). Unfortunately children less the 13 years old that weight more then 20 kg could not join this tour.
- Does we go on the road or on pedestrian lanes?
- Both! We always choose the easiest and safest way to go.
- Do you have small size bicycle?
- Yes, we have large and small bicycle so you could always fit easily.
- What speed does the electric bicycle get to?
- Electric bicycle can go up to 25km/hour.
- How does the electric bicycle work?
- A pedelec (from pedal electric cycle) is a bicycle where the rider's pedalling is assisted by a small electric motor; thus they are a type of low-powered e-bike. However, unlike some other types of e-bikes, pedelecs are classified as conventional bicycles in many countries by road authorities rather than classified as a type of electric moped. Pedelecs include an electronic controller which stops the motor producing power when the rider is not pedalling or when a certain speed has been reached. Pedelecs are useful for people who have to ride in hilly areas.
- What's the minimum age to ride an electric bicycle?
- What is the minimum age for a golf-cart rental?
- Minimum age to rent a golf-cart is 25 years.
- Do I need a license to rent a Golf-Cart?
- Yes. We rent street legal golf-carts which require a driving license.
- What is required from me to rent a Golf-Cart?
- Driving license which is valid in the European union / Italy and a credit cart with at least 6 month till expiration.
- Can I rent the Golf-Cart with driver?
- We do not offer driver service. You can check one of our Golf-Cart tours if you'd like: Link
- Where does the rental starts from?
- Rental start and end from our shop. We offer hotel service with an additional 20 euro for each direction.
- Do you offer itineraries?
- We would be delighted to provide you with a map and suggest some itineraries for you to follow. We also offer an iPad with internet so you could use a navigation system and enjoy video collection of Rome's top sites.
- Where can the Golf-Cart go?
- Golf-Cart can circle on any road in the centre of Rome, including Rome's ZTL (limited traffic zones) which are closed to normal cars.
- Where can't the Golf-Cart go?
- Golf-Cart cannot circle on pedestrian lanes and public transportation lanes.
- Am I insured?
- Yes, our golf-cart are insured, also against 3rd part.
- What is the cancellation policy?

- Where can I park the Golf-Cart?
- Golf-Cart can park for free on white parking slots (free for all), blue parking slots (normal cars have to pay, free for golf-cart). Golf-Cart cannot park on orange parking slots.
- What's a Golf-Cart?
- An electric Golf-Cart has an autonomy of about 100 km and can access every road a car can, plus enter Rome’s ZTL limited traffic zones without special permits. It also the an advantage of free-parking in Rome’s ‘blue-line’ parking spots. Driving a golf-cart is easy and has the great advantage of feeling the open space around you will sightseeing the city. You could reach any place in town in no time and is ideal for both families with small children who would love it or mobility challenged people. Rolling Rome Golf-Carts come in different sizes. we have a 2 seater, 4 seater, 6 seater and an eight seater golf carts. If there are more of you, we will add another golf-cart for your tour in Rome, with another guide.
- Can I keep the Golf-Cart with me over night when renting for more than a day?
- No, as we need to check the cart, have it cleaned and charge it overnight.
- What is the minimum age for a golf-cart rental?
